Switch name Description
Game settings
aibuildairchance Chance that the AI will build an air-routes when it wants to build a new route. Range 0..65535, where 0=0% and 65535=100%. Default 5041.
aibuildrailchance Chance that the AI will build an rail-route when it wants to build a new route. Range 0..65535 where 0=0% and 65535=100%. Default is 30246.
aibuildrvchance Chance that the AI will build an rv-route when it wants to build a new route. Range 0..65535 where 0=0% and 65535=100%. Default is 20164.
aichoosechances Specify what probability the AI will try to construc new routes. You can set aibuildrailchance, aibuildrvchance, aibuildairchance or even forbid one exact type of transport.
cdpath Sets the CD path.
cheatscost When you use cheats, it will cost you some money.
debtmax By holding CTRL key you borrow or repay maximum amount of money (repaying is limited by your account - how much money you have at your account at the moment you are repaying).
disasters.coalminesubsidence Allows coal mine subsidence.
disasters.factoryexplosion Allows factory explosion.
disasters.largesubmarine Allows large submarine.
disasters.largeufo Allows large UFO.

enhanceddifficultysettings Makes possible to select NONE for the number of industries in the difficulty settings. Bear in mind, it will not prevent to not appear industry later on in a game.
enhancegui Enhances the user interface. Chagnes grafic engine of some windows, furthermore enables 2 colors scheme at companies (at GRF´s files which support it that), using dynamite by mouse tagging, building diagonals rails tracks by mouse tagging, looking after vehicle (right click button on EYE at vehicle window), and ads PIN up to the right hand vehicle window corner (when pressed DELTETE, window with sticked pin will not get closed).
enhancemultiplayer After enabling this switch, however, up to 8 players can join a game and play together with the Windows version of TTD. Networking is totally different in the DOS version, so this switch does nothing there.
errorpopuptime Changes the time after which red error popup windows automatically close. 0 means it will remain on screen unless you will close it.
eternalgame Allows you to keep playing forever, game won't stop at 2070.Game will stop at year 65535.
experimentalfeatures.cooperative Cooperative play, very limited. Allows players to share track and some facilities when you buy 75% of company. Company stays as it is and it will not be building any constructions or even any vehicles. All vehicles built up up to date will remain and will be creating profit or loss.
experimentalfeatures.incvehconsist Build more than 240 trains per company.
experimentalfeatures.mandatorygrm Require that all .grf files use GRF Resource Management to prevent ID conflicts.

gamespeed Makes the gamespeed changeable. You can change it from 50% up to 800% percent of original game speed. This requires the hotkeys patch. Press Q to speed up the game by a factor 2 (to a max of 8x speed) E slows down and W to reset game speed to default. Parameter is the initial setting.
generalfixes Fixes various little things, see the docs for more info on what exactly it does. It is recommended NOT to switched it off.
loadtime Enables new (more realistic and logic) calculation for (un)loading. It is simple as that: Engines, if they do not carry an cargo are not calculated in (un)loading time. If whole train fits to the staion, than (un)loading is independent of number of cars involved but on amoutn of cargo being (un)loaded. If train is longer than a station, cars left behind the station are (un)loaded after the cars at the station are (un)loaded but time of (un)loading is calculating by same measure as cars would have been at the station.
locomotiongui.defaultnewgui Use the new GUI as default (when you press track building with CTRL the old GUI will be used).

maprefresh Overrides the frequency TTD updates the map window. Lower number mean faster map refresh and more CPU usage. TTD's default is 64.
miscmods.breakdownatsignal Trains won't break down while waiting on red signals.
miscmods.displaytownsize Display town size at the name.
miscmods.dontchangesnow Don't change how sloped tiles determine whether they are above or below the snowline.

morenews Generates messages / news reports on more events. (for instance message when are cutted down all trees around Lumber mill at tropic scenario etc).
morestatistics Enables collections of more statistics at company window or by opening the player window while holding the CTRL key.
morevehicles Increases the total number of vehicle. You set it up 850* 1 till 40. Game saved vwith this switch on, use TRPXX.SV1 instead of standard TRTXX.SV1.
morewindows Allows more windows to be opened on the screen. (Between 11 and 255).
mousewheel.cursorzoom Zooming with mouse whell at cursor location instead of screen center.
mousewheel.legacy Enable wheel zooming support for older (legacy) operating systems and drivers.
mousewheel.safezoom Zooms only after rolling with mouse wheel by two notches.
moveerrorpopup Moves all red error popups to the top-right corner of the screen.
networktimeout Disconnects a network game if there is no response for the given number of seconds. Usually TTD stays connected for forever even when other computer crashed down. This patch will disconnect game aftertime given.
newagerating Makes stations ratings more tolerant to vehicle ages. Now wagons can be up to 21 instead of 3 years old.
newbridges Enables new graphics for bridges.
newcargodistribution When distributing cargo among several stations serving one industry, TTD always considers the two stations with the highest ratings for this cargo, but not all cargo is made available for transporting. A certain fraction of the cargo gets lost. With this switch, all cargo will be distributed according to the relative ratings of the two best stations. Similar ratings will receive a similar amount of cargo, and a rating twice as high will receive twice as much. Rounding errors mean that the better station will have a slight advantage.
newcargos Enables support for new cargo types like chemicals for instance. It also increase cargo limit at the station. It increases is from 4 095 up to 32 767 cargo units.
newgrfcfg Chooses the configuration file for new graphics sets instead of newgrf(w).cfg file.
newhouses Activates new types of town buildings with new graphics and more houses in a townd then original TT game allowed.
newindustries Enables support for new types of industry and new industry graphic.
newperformance Applies a more reasonable performance calculation regarding vehicle profits - it calculates, how many vehicles we are able to buy from the life time profit of a wehicle we sold (it show us home many SAME vehicles (vehicles which we sold) we are able to buy).
newplanes Activates new aircract models with new graphics.
newrvcrash Changes train / road vehicle crashes. 1 makes the train break down after the crash, 2 disables train / road vehicle crashes at all.
newrvs Activates new road vehicles models with new graphics.
newships Activates new ships models with new graphics.
newshistory Enables collecting and displaying of history news.
newsounds Allows adding new sounds to the game via custom GRF files. (DOS only) Mix sounds at 22KHz instead of the default 11KHz. Allows correct playback of 22KHz samples.
newspapercolour Changes newspapers to colour in the given year.
newstations Enables new station graphics - it also enable that waypoints are not stations - that means cargo is not (un)loaded there. This has a positiv affect to the town council, therefore it is not staion without service. So waypoints do not affect town council meaning.
newtownnames Allows adding new town name styles for random games via new grf files.
newtrains Activates new trains models with new graphics.
noinflation Turns off all inflation, both for cost and also for revenue.
planes Sets the maximum number of planes. Originaly in TTD is maximum 40.
resolutionheight Enables and sets the height of the resolution patch.When you are not sure with resolution, it is recommended to have a look at your screen properteries and copy settings. (Default on=600)
resolutionwidth Enables and sets the width of the resolution patch. When you are not sure with resolution, it is recommended to have a look at your screen properteries and copy settings. (Default on=800)
roadvehs Sets the maximum number of road vehicles.
saveoptionaldata Makes TTDPatch save and load additional (optional) data at the end of savegames. It is highly leave this swith ON until you have a very good reason to do so.
ships Sets the maximum number of ships. Orignaly in TTD 50 ships.
showfulldate Always show the full date in the status, not only when the game is paused. When you OFF it, only day in month will not be displayed.
showprofitinlist Shows colour-coded profit in the list of vehicles. Red means vehicle is not profitable, yeloow means profit is low than 10.000 pounds, green is 10.000 pounds profit per year or higher. Vehicles younger than 2 years are not rated. Vehicle rating affects your score.
signcheats Enables the sign cheats (for cheaters), cheat is enabled with placing a sing on a map and typing text: Cht:………
sortvehlist Sorts vehicles in vehicle list windows. The parameter sets how much time elapses between two updates. Lower settings require more CPU time, but keeps the list more up-to date. The setting of 10 means approximately an TTD day.
stableindustry Prevents industries from closing down if Economy is set to Steady in Difficulty settings.
startyear Sets the default start year for random games and allows greater choice of starting years in the scenario editor. (Default on=1930)
stretchwindow It stretches the size of TTD's window by multiplying each pixel with a certain factor. You can set the size to be anything between 40 and 20480, but if set to less than 160 (a quarter of the original size), it is difficult to see anything or even click on the yes/no button when trying to quit the game.The best results are achieved for integer multiples of 640, e.g. 1280, although half-integer multiples such as 960 also work reasonably well. (Default on=1280)
subsidiaries When you hold 75% of competitors company, you are able to view a company window and there is MANAGE button. When you press it, you are able to manage competitors company. When you finish managing, you can re-switch to your origin company. Bare in mind, that computer takes over your company when you managing his company.
tempsnowline Enable snow at temperate climate with special GRF file.
toylandfeatures.lighthouses Allows lighthouse at Toy land.
toylandfeatures.woodlands Allows forrest at Toy land.
trains Sets maximum trains. If you like to have more than 240 trains, just have experimentalfeatures.incvehconsist on.
trams Enable trams - new grafic, Asks for a special GRF trams file.
verbose Shows all switches, and their value in ttdpatch.cfg before the game gets launched.
win2k Makes Windows TTD version compatible with XP/200 (originali only for 95/98).
windowsnap Windows in game get sticktcked together when are closer than 10 pixels to each other.
Building and construction
autoslope Allows to terraform without removing structure.
buildoncoasts Makes it possible to build on coast or riverbanks without having to use the dynamite tool first.
buildonslopes Allows to build tracks, roads and stations on sloped land, at the base as like as houses.
buildwhilepaused Enables all construction options even when the game is paused.
canals Allows building canals and locks using the BUY LAND tool from the dock construction menu. When canal is build, ship is able to reach water which is one level above (can reach higher level of water).
custombridgeheads With this switch, you can add additional tracks or road pieces on a flat bridge heads.
enhancetunnels Allows to build track on top of the tunnel entrances.
extpresignals These switches introduce a new type of signal to TTD. It changes from ordinary signals to super singals (pre-signals) when CTRL is pressed with left mouse click. It will let engine get on track ONLY when EXIT of this track if free. That mean it will let the engine go only when on signal (exit signal) is GREEN light. So the engine know it won't be block further down the track by another engine.
extradynamite Allows you to remove things which culd not be remove by ordinary dynamite (for instance: town statues, town bridges, tunnels ets). Even so, some building can be destroy only using extra dynamite and also you must have at least excellent reputation in town.
higherbridges Allows building higher bridges and bridges at slopes.
irregularstations Allows to build station in irregular forms, in any shape, but station is limited by 15x15 area. You can also use dynamite with CTRL to destroy only part (square) of the station and make so shape you like.
keepsmallairport Keeps small airports for forever.
largestations Allows to add more platforms or make a station longer, up to 15x15. There could be even different type of railways track system on one platform (eletric and monorail at one station at the same time for instance).
longbridges Allows building bridges of up to 127 squares length.
manualconvert Allows manual track type conversion by placing new tracks over existing tracks (without need to use dynamite first).
moreairports Allows build more airports per city. Normal is two per city depends at airport noise (small has a got a 2 noise units, large 3 and haliport 1 noise unit)
morebuildoptions.bulldozesignals Automatically bulldoze signals on track.
morebuildoptions.closeindustries Allows same industries to be very close to each other.
morebuildoptions.ctunnel Allows tunnels crossing.
morebuildoptions.enhancedbuoys When you build buoys with pressed CTRL button than buoys behave like an ordinary stations. It has got its owner, produce and accept goods and ships are able to stop there. It is possible to use for an industry station on water surface. You create fishery for instance.
morebuildoptions.moreindustries Allows more than one industry of the same type at one town.
morebuildoptions.oilrefinery Allows oil refinery to be created everywhere (not only at the map edges).
morebuildoptions.removeindustry Allows industry to be removed when CTRL is pressed.
morebuildoptions.removeobjects Allow removing statues, lighthouses and transmitters when CTRL is pressed.
onewayroads Enables one-way roads when you hold CTRL. You are able to build a one way roads only at straight roads.To emhpasy one way you can use grf. file.
pathbasedsignalling.allowunsafejunction Don't hold trains at an unsafe PBS signal (PBS - Path Base Signalling - allows to continue to trains, which are not in conflict).

presignals Automatically sets up super signals (pre-signals) to improve station handling.
selectgoods Goods will appear only after the service has been requested by any vehicle, and disappear after the given number of days if the request stops. Specifying 2 means goods never dissapear from station.
semaphores Turns new signals built before 1975 into semaphore signals. In Original TT you could built mechanical signals only, in TTD you could built light signals only. With patch ON you are able to build both. Before 1975 you are able to build mechanical signals and 1975 and so on you are able to build light signals. If you need light singals before 1975 or mechanical after 1975 you CTRL button when you build them.
signalsontrafficside Displays railroad signals on the same side of track road vehicles drives on (left or right side driving).
spread Makes it possible to have stations more spread out and could be combine with another type of station (train station connected to the airport for instance).
tracktypecostdiff Each type of railway system has got its own price.
Towns and landscape
abandonedroads Makes roads lose their owners if they aren't used for such a period of time, so you can remove unused roads if they're in your way. You also get the ownership of unowned roads if your vehicles uses them. Mode 0 works as described and is default. Mode 1 makes towns take over nearby roads after a while when not being used. Mode 2 makes this happen instantly.
bribe Adds a bribe option to the local authority menu, price of bribes depends on a good service you have in the city as well as on how the city is large. There is 7% chance you get cought.
largertowns Makes each one out of a given number of towns growing faster and larger (also applying "towngrowthlimit" selectively). 4 means one out of the four towns grows faster then other.
moretownstats Additional statistics are displayed in town information windows (how many passenger or post you have transported…).
officefood Makes office towers accepts food (tropic / arctic scenarios).
plantmanytrees.morethanonepersquare Allow planting more than one tree per square. This will not affect local authority meaning, as you have to plant trees at free square to improve meaning.
plantmanytrees.morethanonerectangular More than one tree on a square in the rectangular planting mode.
plantmanytrees.rectangular Enable planting over a rectangular area with CTRL. Plan one tree in rectangle and then plan other tree in oposite corner of rectangle. This will fill up rectangle with trees. If you plant same trees to both corners, you plan same trees at the whole rectangle. when you plan different type of trees in corners, you will plan all different kinds of trees in rectangle.

townroadbranchprob Changes road expansion at towns - 0 means that in town will not be more extensions, junctions and roads will go straight as they are. Set 0 - 65535, which means 0 - 100%, where default ON is 21845 which is 33%.
Vehicles
autorenew Renews vehicles when serviced. Default value 6 means, player is warned to replace engine manualy. If he does not do it in 6 month time, engine will be replaced automatically with the same tipe of engine. Optionally you can set -128 till + 127. Default is -6.
autoreplace Upgrades vehicles to the best available new type, with the minimum given reliability in percents. Range 1..100, default 80.Where 80means percent. If not new vehicle aviable, renew the current model for the same model.
bridgespeedlimits Increases the speed limits on tubular monorail and maglev bridges to the percentage of the highest maximum engine speed in the class. Range 25..250. Default 90.
curves Sets curve speeds to normal (0), faster (1), fastest (2) or realistic (3). One digit for each of railroad, monorail, maglev and road vehicles. Default 0120.It is recommendet at maglev to use faster (1) or fastest (2) as Maglev has no wheels. Physics is calculated at wheel based trains.
electrifiedrailway Removes one of the magnetic track systems (Monorail or MagLev) and replaces it with an electrified railroad system.
enginespersist Keeps engines in offer for all time but only when at least one is still in the game. Standartly reliability goes down when vehicle is in offer and gets older. So you buy a new vehicle with for instance with 40% reliabity insted of 80% which vehicle had in its best times. With this switch ON reliability does go down only when engine is purchased not in offer.
fastwagonsell With this switch, all you have to do is hold CTRL button and sell the engine. Then the entire train will be sold. Alternatively, you can sell all wagons behind a certain wagon, by selling that wagon and holding down CTRL as well.
feederservice Modifies unload - you get a profit from vehicle which only transport any goods from station to TRANSFER station. (Transfer station is station, where you re-load goods from one vehicle to another (for instance: trucks will deliver coal to train station, where a coal train collect coal from trucks and train will deliver coal to station. So even the trucks will make profit).
fifoloading Enable FIFO loading. (FIFO = first in first out). The first vehicle which gets to the station will leave the station first. It is used when full- load is enabled.
followvehicle Allows main view to follow a vehicle with a right mouse click on the Center View button at the vehicles window. Screen gets locked on the vehicle and follows vehicle unless you get close vehicle window.
forceautorenew Forces servicing of vehicles when it is time for the auto-renewal - despite a service interval.
freighttrains Multiplies the cargo carried by cargo trains with the given factor, to simulate very long freight trains. This only affects train acceleration, the trains do not actually transport more. (Default on=5)
fullloadany Makes a train leave from station if any type of cargo is loaded.
gotodepot Allows you to add depots to vehicles orders.
gradualloading Changes the way vehicles are loaded to more realistic gradual loading (also activates LOADTIME). It could speed up loading and unloading. It (un)loads cargo by 5 or 10 units of cargo…so when one vehicle is unloading, the other one can uploding.
lostaircraft Gives a warning about lost aircraft after the given number of days (aircraft won't reach destination within a days set up by number).
lostrvs Gives a warning about lost road vehicle after the given number of days (vehicle won't reach destination within a days set up by number).
lostships Gives a warning about lost ship after the given number of days (ship won't reach destination within a days set up by number).
losttrains Gives a warning about lost train after the given number of days (train won't reach destination within a days set up by number).
mammothtrains Allows mammoth trains with up to 126 vagons plus one engine - means 127 all together.

multihead Allows an arbitrary number of engines on a train. Buy an extra engines with CTRL. Parameter is max. speed-up by additional engines in percentage. (Default on=35)
nonstop Makes the NON-STOP switch behave differently - in original TTD trains stopped in every station which was in his way. When you wanted train to pass this station through you had to add NON-STOP. Now the trains will not stop at station when it has not been added in its shedulle.
planecrashcontrol.jetsdis Jet planes landing on small airports don't crash if disasters are turned off.
planecrashcontrol.jetsoff Jets landing on small airports never crash, regardless of other plane crashe settings.
planecrashcontrol.jetssamerate Jets landing on small airports have normal crashes probability.
planecrashcontrol.normbrdown Normal plane crashes occur only when a plane lands after a breakdown, but then they are four times more likely than normally. If this option is specified together with the next one, it affects all plane crashes, not just normal ones.
planecrashcontrol.normdis Normal plane crashes are turned off if disasters are turned off in the Difficulty Settings window in TTD. This does not affect crashes that occur when a jet plane tries to land on a small airport - i.e. those crashes are not "normal".
planecrashcontrol.normoff All normal plane crashes are turned off, regardless of other plane crashe settings.
planespeed Makes planes fly at up to their indicated speed, (original speed is a quater of indicated speed) and when Break Down, speed reduces to 5/8. (Default on=4)
rvqueueing Makes road vehicles queue up in front of a station and not to turn around.
servint Allows to change the initial service interval for new engines. You can also set it to NONE and train will never look for a depo to get repaired. (Default on=16000)
sharedorders Copy vehicle destination orders by clicking on other vehicle and GO-TO icon.
showspeed Shows the current speed for all vehicles in the status bar of their window.
signal1waittime Changes the number of days after which a train waiting on a 1-way signal turns around. This is not related to pre-signals. There is also special number 255 which means - treain will never turn around.

trainrefit It allows you to rebuild a vehicle for a different cargo. While in depot, the GO button gets change into to the REFIT button.
unifiedmaglev Enable to buy maglev and monorail in the same depot. 1 changes maglev to monorail, 2 changes monorail to maglev, 3 leaves monorail and maglev separate.
wagonspeedlimits Enable maximum coach speed, depends on how big is a maximum coach speed. Nubmer defines speed increasing when coaches are empty. (Default on=20)
